Covenant Classical Christian School
In 2011 this growing Christian school developed a collective vision plan for the future with the goal of expanding school facilities to include more educational space and a gym. This project, the concept design of these facilities, provides the needed program in an efficient manner with flexible multi-use spaces that can accommodate different activities throughout the day. The building takes advantage of the topography by cutting into the grade to make the building appear less massive and more in keeping with the scale of the existing campus building as well as the smaller scale buildings of the surrounding neighborhood. The sighting and orientation of the facility also creates the opportunity for outdoor “classrooms” and gathering spaces. The exterior skin uses brick to match the campus vernacular as well as metal panels in a color to match the wood siding used in several of the nearby campus buildings.
