Backed by some of the most experienced banking executives in the area, the new Bank Meridian was formed with a unique focus on a fresh perspective to the banking experience. In that spirit, they sought a landmark downtown location for their main branch in the base of the recently completed Meridian Tower. The 4,000-sf space is bound by a preserved art-deco façade on Main Street, the tower's lobby to the south, and an existing brick wall of the adjacent historic building to the north. With access directly from the tower's lobby or a rear Japanese-style garden, the program sought to casually announce to customers the bank's unique vision and purpose through the organization of the space. Programmatically, the bank has two functions: a branch and a commercial lending institution. These two components are arranged with perimeter offices enclosed with glass partitions, overlooking a central conference room and the main lobby, personalizing the banking experience while highlighting the rich characteristics of the existing brick walls and art deco façade.

“The art of relationship banking is our specialty, and the architectural look of our bank is distinctive. We have had the privilege of using Garvin Design Group on our bank renovation, and the pleasure of enjoying their architectural design everyday. Garvin Design Group customized a first rate office with a professional look and creative appeal. They updated the building without losing the structure’s historical significance. They were diligent, detail oriented and responsive throughout the entire restoration process. Bank Meridian has a great relationship with Garvin Design Group and would highly recommend them.”
