Living Learning Center
The University of New Haven is a growing campus located in West Haven, Connecticut. Recent surges in student population have created a need for affordable student housing on campus. This new development is proposed to be 400 beds arranged in clusters of 20 beds each. This clustering will create a smaller residential scale for the students within a high density development. The proposed living environment seeks to create a sense of community both indoors and out on all floor levels of the facilities, thus fostering a strong sense of engagement. The building wraps around an outdoor courtyard, creating a safe place for students to gather. The rooms consist of groupings of 2-Bed and 4-Bed units, each with living and kitchen amenities. The ground floor will include some shared social spaces for additional interaction.
