Terry received his Bachelor of Science in Design from Clemson University in 1993 and completed his Master of Architecture in 1996 from the University of Virginia.  As a Principal in the firm since 2006, he has played a key leadership role in the design and management of various private, institutional and corporate projects throughout South Carolina.  Terry especially enjoys the process of architectural design and the necessary balance of aesthetics and technical problem solving.  In keeping with GDG’s commitment to its clients throughout the design and construction process, he has extensive experience in the field and has consistently overseen the construction administration of projects he has designed.  Terry recently completed the new Academic Office and Classroom Building at Coastal Carolina University, situated near the HTC Center he completed on the same campus in 2012.  He’s also worked extensively at the University of South Carolina, having played a key role on their Band & Dance Facility and Women’s Quad Renovation, as well as the recent Basketball Team Spaces Renovation in the former Carolina Coliseum and the Masterplan for USC’s Recreation and Golf Facilities along the Congaree River.  At both USC and Clemson University, Terry has developed various feasibility studies for both academic and athletic projects of various scales, including renovations to Clemson’s golf facilities and their new Soccer Operations Complex.  In addition to his Higher Education work, his portfolio covers a wide range of markets including the Granby Mill Redevelopment; Chapin United Methodist Church Sanctuary and Children’s Education Addition; Lexington Medical Center Wellness Facility; Corporate Offices for Coldwell Banker United, Realtors; and the South Carolina Realtors Headquarters.
