Wendy proudly identifies as a first-generation Mexican American – her parents immigrated from Santa Ana Jilotzingo, Mexico, in 1996, and Wendy deeply treasures this heritage. Born and raised in South Carolina, Wendy achieved the honor of salutatorian upon graduating from Swansea High in 2022. She is an undergraduate student at the Clemson University School of Architecture set to complete her studies in spring 2026. In addition to her major, Wendy has completed a minor in Construction Science and Management and actively participates in the Integrated Path to Architecture Licensure (IPAL) program.

Wendy’s early fascination with the game Minecraft inspired her to explore engineering classes and ultimately shape her career path. She loves witnessing project evolution and deeply appreciates the meticulous planning and creative process involved. Wendy is particularly drawn to the excitement of the initial design phase, where a project’s potential becomes palpable. Wendy’s long-term goal is to obtain licensure and pursue international work.

Outside of her academic pursuits, Wendy is integral to her family’s business, Los Chicanos Food Truck. Alongside her studies, she actively contributes to the food truck’s marketing efforts and assists as a cook or cashier when needed, reflecting the strong family bond behind the venture. Amidst her commitments to architecture and Los Chicanos, Wendy cherishes travel opportunities and embraces new experiences whenever her schedule allows.
