Kim Moon IIDA

Interior Designer

Originally from Ohio, Kim studied Industrial Design at The Ohio State. She brought more than 20 years of commercial design experience to Garvin Design Group when she joined the firm in 2005. Throughout her career, Kim’s work has focused on the integration of interior space and architecture.

For more than 11 years, Kim served as Garvin Design Group’s only Interior Designer – her fingerprints are on nearly every project in the firm’s early portfolio. Kim led the interior design for USC’s Strom Thurmond Wellness Center and Patterson Hall, additions and renovations at Greenville’s Peace Center, and the public spaces inside Liberty Place in Charleston and Ocean Enclave in Myrtle Beach. Some of Kim’s recent projects include Halls Chophouse in Columbia and Nashville, Halls Catch, and renovations at USC’s Gamecock Park and Fresh Greene’s dining spaces inside the Russell House.

Off the boards, Kim is actively involved in the local arts community. She serves on the board of the Columbia Design League and is a talented painter. Kim also enjoys exploring the Southeast on her husband’s Harley Davidson and cheering on her beloved Buckeyes during college football season.
